Jake Knott is a MONSTER

http://espn.go.com/blog/big12/post/_/id/27949/tough-nut-at-isu-working-through-injury

Holy crap, this is what differentiates D1 athletes from the rest of us.  I'm pretty sure, I would have gone home after having my arm surgically reconstructed.

Last Thursday, Iowa State linebacker Jake Knott dove to trip up a streaking Shontrelle Johnson at practice two days before the Cyclones' spring game.

"A great effort play," said coach Paul Rhoads.

Reese Strickland/US PresswireIowa State linebacker Jake Knott made 131 tackles, third in the Big 12 last season.
But on the dive, Knott's arm and Johnson's legs got twisted and Knott heard the dreaded pop.

"I knew right then I broke my arm," he said.

Added Rhoads: "You can see the pain immediately overcome him on film. Just a freak type of play."

Twenty-four hours later, Knott was back on the practice field. On Friday afternoon, Knott had surgery and was discharged from the hospital at about 5 p.m.

ISU Spring Game!

One of my best friends, Dan, got me thinking I should write about the spring game.

Dan: Did you go to the spring game?
Cyclone Morning Report: yes
Cyclone Morning Report: there was so little to report
Dan: lol
Cyclone Morning Report I heard Rhoads speak before the game and he said "expect to see little to nothing interesting today. There are are some purple/gold, black/gold scouts here"
Cyclone Morning Report: so play selection was like 5 plays
Cyclone Morning Report: but, Steele Jantz threw a 48 yd bomb into the wind for a TD in the 2nd half, which was fun
Cyclone Morning Report: What I will tell you, Aaron Horne and Darius Reynolds will shred defenses if only we can have an accurate QB

No, we didn't learning anything about the QB's, and saw our RB's do some dancing.  The line play looked pretty solid, but as I said above, nothing really interesting.

Except for the performance of Aaron Horne (#3) and Darius Reynolds (#7)  Both caught some long balls, and Darius "Money" Reynolds went over a could DB's for a score too.

Check out the videos from www.cyclones.com

Two of the biggest crowd pleasers were wide receivers Darius Reynolds and Aaron Horne.  Reynolds is in his third season at Iowa State with 38 career catches for 355 yards and two TDs. Reynolds has been slowed by injuries but he caught a total of five balls for 126 yards and touchdowns of 40- and 19-yards Saturday on passes from Jerome Tiller.
BTW, I'm calling my shot now, but James Capello should be a posession WR, not a backup QB, ALA Austin Flynn.  Facts courteous of  football roster from www.cyclones.com

Austin Flynn
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 200

James Capello
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 202

And Capello is fast!
